As someone who shares an iPad with family members or wants to differentiate work and personal environments, the concept of having two profiles on an iPad seems incredibly useful. I wonder if it’s possible to customize different profiles so each user can have their own apps, settings, and data. This would help avoid switching between accounts in apps and having shared histories and settings. I am curious if Apple supports such a feature and if so, how I can set up multiple user accounts to keep our information separate and organized. Understanding this functionality might solve many of the issues stemming from shared device usage.

For home use, a viable, though inconvenient, method is to use different Apple IDs for each user. While not entirely user-friendly, pairing this with family sharing settings can make the shifting between profiles somewhat manageable. This approach requires signing out and back in each time, which can be a hassle but helps keep some boundaries between personal setups.

To my dismay, Apple’s standard iPadOS lacks the functionality for multiple user profiles, which I discovered when attempting to share my iPad with my family.
