Why am I experiencing mouse lag in Windows 11?

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and started noticing a frustrating issue with my mouse. It seems to lag intermittently, making it difficult to use my computer smoothly. The cursor often feels unresponsive or jumps erratically across the screen. This problem occurs regardless of whether I’m using a wired or wireless mouse. It really disrupts my work and gaming experience. I don’t understand why this is happening, as everything was working perfectly fine before the upgrade. This mouse lag in Windows 11 is becoming a major annoyance, and I’m not sure what could be causing it or how to troubleshoot it effectively.

Disabling visual effects can help with performance. Here’s what I did:
1. Right-click the Start button and select ‘System.’
2. Go to ‘Advanced system settings.’
3. Under ‘Performance,’ select ‘Settings.’
4. Choose ‘Adjust for best performance.’
Turning off these effects freed system resources and reduced lag.

I’ve had mouse lag in Windows 11, which disappeared when I reduced the screen resolution. High resolutions can strain the GPU and cause lag. Lower the resolution by right-clicking the desktop, selecting ‘Display settings,’ and choosing a lower resolution. My cursor moved more smoothly immediately.

Updating device drivers can resolve mouse lag. I went to Device Manager, expanded ‘Mice and other pointing devices,’ right-clicked on my mouse, and selected ‘Update driver.’ This improved the performance. Checking for Windows updates might also help, as they can include fixes for performance issues.
