Why does my MacBook Air have no output sound?
I am experiencing an issue with my MacBook Air where there is no output sound. The device was working fine, but suddenly, I couldn’t hear any audio from the speakers. I made sure that the volume was turned up and the mute button wasn’t activated. I even tried plugging in headphones, but still, no sound was coming out. It’s becoming very frustrating because I use my MacBook for important tasks that require audio, such as video calls, watching tutorials, and listening to music. I’ve checked all the basic settings, but nothing seems to work. I haven’t installed any new software or made any changes that I think could have caused this issue. What could be the reasons behind this problem, and how can I identify what’s going wrong?

A friend advised me to reset the audio service via the Terminal, which worked for me. Here’s how:
1. Open Terminal from Applications > Utilities.
2. Type sudo killall coreaudiod
and hit Enter.
3. Enter your administrator password if prompted. This command reboots the core audio service, which fixed my problem immediately.

I found that resetting the NVRAM (Non-Volatile Random Access Memory) helped resolve my sound issue. Here’s the process I used:
1. Shut down your MacBook.
2. Turn it on and immediately hold the Option, Command, P, and R keys simultaneously.
3. After about 20 seconds, release the keys. Resetting NVRAM can clear up many settings-related issues, including audio problems.

Checking for physical obstructions might help. Use a flashlight to inspect the headphone jack for any dust or debris and clean it if necessary, using compressed air. Additionally, running Apple Diagnostics might uncover any hardware issues:
1. Restart your MacBook Air.
2. Hold down the D button while it boots up.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts to run diagnostics.
