Why does the Alexa iPhone app cannot find a network?

I’ve been having trouble with my Alexa app on my iPhone recently, and it’s becoming quite frustrating. Every time I try to connect, the app just can’t seem to find a network. I’ve checked my Wi-Fi connection, and it’s working perfectly fine on other devices like my laptop and even other apps on my iPhone. I’ve tried restarting both my router and my phone, but nothing seems to help. It’s strange because the app was working fine before, and I haven’t made any significant changes to my network settings or device. I’m puzzled about what could be causing this issue. Is it a problem with the app itself, or could it be some compatibility issue? I’m lost and just need to understand why the Alexa iPhone app can not find a network anymore.

Hey, I had this issue last week and, surprisingly, switching my iPhone’s DNS settings solved it. Follow these steps: Go to ‘Settings’ on your iPhone. Select ‘Wi-Fi’ and tap the ‘i’ next to your network. Scroll down to ‘DNS’ and choose ‘Configure DNS.’ Change it to ‘Manual’ and add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (these are Google’s DNS servers). After saving these settings, the Alexa app found the network without any problems.

One possible solution is to ensure your Alexa app is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, bugs in outdated versions can cause connectivity issues. Check the App Store for any available updates for the Alexa app. Once updated, restart your iPhone and try connecting again. This often resolves many such connectivity issues with smart apps.

I contacted Amazon Support, and they suggested checking if the Bluetooth on my iPhone was interfering with the Wi-Fi connection. Here’s what they recommended: Turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone. Open the Alexa app and try connecting to your network again. If it works, you can turn Bluetooth back on afterward. Apparently, there can sometimes be interference that affects the app’s ability to find the network.

I experienced a similar issue recently and found that resetting the network settings on my iPhone helped. Here’s what I did: Went to ‘Settings’ on my iPhone. Selected ‘General.’ Scrolled down and tapped ‘Reset.’ Chose ‘Reset Network Settings.’ After doing this and reconnecting to my Wi-Fi, the Alexa app was able to find the network again. This method acts like a network refresh for your phone.

I had the same problem a while back, and it turned out that the issue was with my router’s settings. You might want to access your router’s admin panel and check the following: Ensure that your network’s SSID (name) is visible and not hidden. Check if your network is set to a standard like WPA2, which is widely supported. Try rebooting the router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. If none of these work, you could also try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the problem is specific to your current network.
