Why is my disc eject button not working?

I’ve noticed that my disc eject button is not working, and it’s becoming quite frustrating. Whenever I press the button, nothing happens. There are no sounds indicating that the mechanism is trying to operate, and the disc remains firmly inside the device. I haven’t physically damaged the equipment, and everything else seems to be working fine. It’s a standard disc drive, and this issue has surfaced out of the blue. I’m concerned this could be a hardware problem, but I haven’t had any other indications that the drive itself is malfunctioning. Could it be a software glitch, or possibly something obstructing the internal mechanisms? I’m really unsure about how to diagnose what’s causing this problem and what steps I should take next.

A possible cause for the eject button not working could be physical obstruction. Dust, dirt, or small objects may block the eject mechanism. Using a can of compressed air to gently clean the drive slot might help. If you’re comfortable, open the device to inspect for visible obstructions that prevent the disc from ejecting.
