Why is my Mac not printing in color?

I’ve been experiencing some frustrating issues with my printer connected to my Mac. For some reason, whenever I try to print documents, they only come out in grayscale or black and white, even though I have set the print settings to color. I know the printer itself is capable of color printing because it has worked before, and the ink cartridges are full and properly installed.
