Why is my SIM card unlocked but no service on my phone?
I recently unlocked my SIM card, expecting to get full service and access to all the features my phone has to offer. However, despite the card being unlocked, I am still seeing ‘No Service’ on my phone. I’ve tried restarting it multiple times and even reinserting the SIM card, but nothing seems to change. This situation is really frustrating because I can’t make calls, receive texts, or use mobile data. I’ve checked I’m in an area with good network coverage, and others around me have no issues with their service. I’m not sure what else could be causing this problem, and I need my phone for important communications. Has anyone else faced this issue, and why might my SIM card be unlocked but still not providing any service?

In my case, the issue was compatibility between my SIM card and my phone. I found out that though my phone supported various network bands, it didn’t cover all the ones my carrier used. After contacting both my carrier and phone manufacturer, I switched to a carrier with compatible bands. This solved the issue for me and restored my service without any further problems.

You might want to verify if your SIM card is properly activated. I had this problem and called my carrier’s customer service. They informed me that my SIM card wasn’t correctly activated in their system. They reactivated it remotely, and after restarting my phone, the service was back. Contacting your carrier could be a straightforward solution.

For me, incorrect APN settings were the problem. To check and configure APN settings:
1. Go to ‘Settings.’
2. Navigate to ‘Network & Internet’ or ‘Mobile Networks.’
3. Tap ‘Access Point Names (APNs).’
4. Either create a new APN with the details provided by your carrier or modify the existing one.
5. Save the changes and select the new APN.
After configuring the APN settings correctly, my phone received a signal, allowing me to make calls, send texts, and use data again.

I had a similar problem caused by outdated firmware on my phone. Here’s how you can update your phone’s software:
1. Connect to Wi-Fi.
2. Go to ‘Settings’ and scroll to ‘Software Update’ or ‘System Update.’
3. Tap ‘Download and Install’ to check for updates.
Updating the software fixed the compatibility with the network, and my service was restored.

Consider the possibility of a defective SIM card. I dealt with this issue and found that the SIM card was faulty despite appearing undamaged. To check, try the SIM in another unlocked device. If it still doesn’t work, visit your carrier’s service center for a replacement. Getting a new SIM card immediately resolved the problem for me.

I experienced the same situation last month and found out that my phone needed a network settings reset. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Go to ‘Settings.’
2. Find ‘General’ or ‘System.’
3. Tap ‘Reset’ or ‘Reset Options.’
4. Select ‘Reset Network Settings.’
5. Confirm the action by entering your PIN or password if necessary.
Once I did this, my phone automatically configured the network parameters, and I regained service promptly.
