I’m really frustrated with my PS4 because it just won’t turn on. There are no lights showing up, and I don’t hear any beeps either. When I press the power button, absolutely nothing happens—it’s like the console is completely dead. This issue came out of nowhere; I haven’t had any prior warnings or issues with it. I’ve tried all the obvious things like checking the power cable and making sure the outlet works, but nothing seems to resolve the problem. I’m not sure what else to do, and I really don’t want to have to buy a new console. Has anyone else experienced this “ps4 won’t turn on no light no beep” issue? What could possibly be causing it?

Power cycling the PS4 can sometimes solve this issue. To power cycle your PS4:
1. Unplug the power cable from the console and the wall outlet.
2. Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
3. Reconnect the power cable and try turning on the console.

I had the same issue last month, and it turned out that my power cord was faulty. Borrow a power cord from a friend or use one from another device, if possible. Swapping out the power cord resolved my issue instantly, so it’s worth a shot.

In my experience, the heat sink and thermal paste inside the PS4 can also be a silent culprit causing the issue. Reapplying thermal paste to the CPU can improve heat management. This is more technical and involves fully opening the console, so if you’re up for it, give it a try.

Occasionally, the internal hard drive might be the reason your PS4 fails to power on. Remove the hard drive and see if the console turns on. If it does, the hard drive might need replacing. This solved my problem once, so it’s worth attempting to remove and later replace the hard drive.
